What is a cookie?

Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your personal computer, mobile or other device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognises that cookie. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise a user's device.

Persistent cookies - these cookies remain on a user's device for the period of time specified in the cookie. They are activated each time that the user visits the website that created that particular cookie.

Session cookies - these cookies allow website operators to link the actions of a user during a browser session. A browser session starts when a user opens the browser window and finishes when they close the browser window. Session cookies are created temporarily. Once you close the browser, all session cookies are deleted.

Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improve the user experience. They can also help to ensure that adverts you see online are more relevant to you and your interests.

You can find more information about cookies at www.allaboutcookies.org and www.youronlinechoices.eu.

The Brasserie, Grand Canal Square

With a sharp focus on Irish, locally sourced produce, the Brasserie is a refreshing addition to the Grand Canal restaurant scene. Located right beside the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, it’s the perfect pre-theatre destination.

The rich elemental theme of the Marker comes to life in this space. The bold, abstract ceiling is complimented by modern, minimal furniture, including legendary design icon - the Panton chair. A spectacular grey marble table dominates the space, while private booths and banquette seating create just the right amount of privacy for intimate dining.

In Ireland, the traditional way of cooking is to create simple dishes, built around one great ingredient. The Brasserie is no different. From succulent rare breed pork or prime dry-aged beef we try to stay true to our Irish roots. The Brasserie is the flagship of The Marker Hotel food journey, and home to many of our trailblazing new food concepts such as Le Drunch, our Sunday late lunch. The Brasserie is a destination for food lovers who love to try something different, yet share a genuine passion for discovering simple, unfussy dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, that let the food speak for itself.

For a unique night out in Dublin visit The Marker Brasserie for one of Dublin’s best dining experiences. Visitors to The Marker Brasserie can enjoy post dinner drinks on our Rooftop Bar & Terrace looking out over the stunning views, where the buzz of urban city life meets the raw beauty of the mountains.
