22.12.2019Entertaining over half a million theatregoers every year, the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre is a fantastic addition to Dublin’s cultural heritage.
The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, formerly known as The Grand Canal Theatre, is Dublin’s largest theatre and an outstanding addition to Ireland’s thriving arts scene. Specifically built to facilitate large-scale theatre productions, this architectural masterpiece, designed by Daniel Libeskind, has a seating capacity of over 2,000 guests in a classic three-tier theatre auditorium.
Since its opening in 2010, the theatre has hosted a diverse variety of (the best) national and international shows including musicals, ballets, dramas, comedies, music concerts, operas and family shows. Last Christmas season, the theatre presented the world-famous Broadway classic Les Misérables. This year it'll be the feel-good muscial Mamma Mia!.
Tickets for all upcoming events can be bought online or in person at the Theatre Box Office up to 30 minutes before the show starts. The Box Office is open Monday to Friday from 11am to 6pm.
