Home to Ireland’s exhilarating Gaelic Games and also the headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), Croke Park is truly the beating heart of Irish sporting life. Named in honour of archbishop Thomas Croke, the stadium grounds were purchased by the GAA in 1913. With the capacity of 82,300 sports enthusiasts, Croke Park is Europe’s 3rd largest sports stadium, hosting the All-Ireland finals in football and hurling every September.
However, Croke Park is not only known for facilitating world class sporting events. Every year, the stadium is visited by world class international music acts and their fans, hosting truly epic concerts. Musical icons from Tina Turner and U2 to Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran have entertained the crowds beneath the Dublin sky.
Additionally, Croke Park is an excellent meeting and conference venue, featuring 110 unique and customisable event spaces with ample natural daylight.
Even if you aren’t in town for a match, conference or concert, make sure to visit the GAA Museum to learn more about the history of Ireland's national games or book an inspiring stadium tour to access areas you normally wouldn’t be able to visit. You’re third option is the skyline tour, which will allow you to get incredible views of Dublin’s skyline from 17 storeys high.
Whether you are attending a match, concert or corporate event, this family-friendly stadium makes the wellbeing and comfort of its visitors and guests its top priority. Visiting the Croke Park stadium always guarantees a good time and will leave you with a memorable experience.
The easiest way to get to Croke Park Stadium is by foot (as the area can be tricky to access by road on match days due to the crowds), as it is located just 2.4 km from The Marker Hotel. Our friendly and helpful receptionists are delighted to provide you with detailed directions on how to get to the stadium.
The closest bus stop “Grand Canal Dock, Pearse Street” (Stop Number 353) is just 3 minutes’ walk from The Marker Hotel. From there, you can take the Dublin Bus #1 which runs every 11 minutes. Hop off at “Drumcondra Train Station”. From there, it is a 6-minute walk up to Croke Park Stadium.
From The Marker Hotel, take the Sir John Rogerson’s Quay to Samuel Beckett Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue on Guild Street. Turn right onto Russell Street until you reach Croke Park. The stadium will be on your right hand side.
There are a number of car parking options available, including various park-and-ride facilities and car parks. However, especially during match or concert days, it is highly recommended to arrive on foot or by public transport.
